Living The Grand Lifestyle. Helping You Do the Same.
My first experience with visiting a Sun City in AZ was October 1971. While a student at the U.S. Army Intelligence School in Sierra Vista, prior to assignment in Germany, my parents flew down from Joliet, IL to explore Sun City—a potential location for their retirement. After looking around, and looking at my 53-year-old mother, not a gray hair on her head, I blurted out, “What are you going to do in this place? These people look like they are ready to fall over.”
After a couple of small condos, they bought their forever home—a spanking new Annapolis—in 1978. As they raced into retirement, going 65 in a 35mph zone, they never looked back. My mother became one of the original Sun City Poms, and my father never had a bad day, golfing with his WWII buddies.
Carol and I would visit my folks on a regular basis. We purchased our first home in Grand on December 26, 1996. I arranged my own transfer to AZ, and we moved into our home in September ’97. We both got our real estate licenses in 1998 and never looked back. Even after 25 years, we’re still excited with the prospects of a successful transaction—sale or purchase—with satisfied and happy clients.
